TODAY IS THE FINAL FULL DAY FOR SUBMISSIONS.

For this week's MC Ride goalhorn, I'd like fans to submit themselves mumbling/screaming/singing a Death Grips song of their choice. Don't worry about the mixing, I can handle that part. You don't have to be good either, just passionate! I'll pick the best one and we'll all hear it used during our next game.

The deadline is Friday, and while we've already gotten a few good ones (8 in total), every submission counts! Email your submission to 4CCSnorlax@gmail.com Good luck!

Because the /m/ council isn't as retarded as we thought, what with making three Offensive Fullbacks actually work, and /pol/ being led by Cozmo, who was unable to adapt to the new format and played /pol/ defensively (which made them shit)

Yes, he's taking my position after I leave, so if someone wants to give /ck/ a hand as a tester after the cup, call him (or me and I'll take you with him). Also someone feels like making a /ck/ adboard or making the actual banner better, feel free to do it.

My skills in GIMP are a shit and I barely was able to make this monster and call it a banner.

So apparently, today was Dunder the Blunder's birthday. Yes, /hr/'s manager may only be remembered for being the second shittiest manager in the history of 4cc, but I'll forever remember /ag/ trying to give him texting advice for this girl he was trying to date.

Happy birthday, you shitty underaged bastard.

4chan Summer Cup 2013 Retrospective: The Group Stages, Day 1

>Prepare for the Knockouts! Here's a quick refresher of the group stage for anyone who wasn't there or forgot about them.

Well, the first day of the cup got off to a rousing start, with several blowouts and a surprising number of goals from some unexpected teams. The implementation of chants was well-recieved by the audience, and hopefully the 4CCC can work out some way to keep chants in.

Group A
>/mu/ (2) - /toy/ (0)
/mu/ and /toy/ both performed well in the Winter Cup, but /toy/'s performance today was not what we'd come to expect from the team. Hopefully Woody gets the touch back before /toy/'s next game.

>/x/ (4) - /c/ (1)
Konata's goal at 34' looked like it might set the tone for the game, but the 2spooky4me antics of /x/, led in their arcane rituals by Pyramid Head, led to a complete and total upset in the second half of the game along with a bevy of technical failures. If /x/ can keep cursing their opponents, they might just make it past the two powerhouse teams of Group A, /toy/ and /mu/.

Group B
>/a/ (1) - /h/ (1) | The Blood-Related Bowl
It wouldn't be the 4chan Cup without some spaghetti, and this game had a lot of it. From the endless rigging by the managers, especially former /a/ manager Bittenfeld, to Colossal Titan's colossal choking and the lack of any goals until the last 10 minutes of the game, this match was characterized by frustration, laughter, and utter disbelief. Accelerator proved himself a worthy contender for the Golden Glove, stopping seemingly impossible shots by /h/ that proved that Bittenfeld hadn't lost his drunken magic, and Cowboy Bebop proved that age hadn't dulled his leadership skills. /h/'s cheeky equalizer by team favorite Kneesocks ensured that this match would remain a source of frustration and anxiety long after it was over.

>/po/ (5) - /tv/ (0) | The Arrogance of /po/
A shocking blowout by /tv/ and the biggest victory in /po/'s history, /po/ has truly shown that power rankings don't mean much in PES 2013. Paper Cut led the way with a hat trick, one of which came after /po/ manager PaperPlane decided to change tactics as /po/ lead /tv/ 4-0. Taking the Xacto knife in hand and twisting it, he pushed /po/ into a super-offensive posture and cemented /tv/'s fall with a fifth goal in the 88th minute. Is this /po/'s year?

Group C
>/wg/ (2) - /fa/ (1)
Despite the efforts of Young Stalin to lead the /fa/shionistas to victory, /wg/ took the victory in a surprisingly hard-fought match. Cunt Destroyer well and truly destroyed the cunt of /fa/ at the end of the first half, and /wg/'s solid defensive play prevent /fa/ from any further goals. Group C might just come down to a face-off between /soc/ and /wg/.

>/soc/ (2) - /cgl/ (0)
Perennial underdog /cgl/ remained scoreless through all 90 minutes of this match, despite the lound, neverending cheers of their "fans." The cries of "SEAGULLS SEAGULLS SEAGULLS" will forever echo through our heads, but even this motivation wasn't enough for the Seagulls. /soc/ scored two unanswered goals, both within the last minutes of each half, with no opportunity for /cgl/ to equalize or even attempt to preserve their honor.

Group D was known as the "Death Group," and for good reason. With three Elite teams (teams that have never been relegated to the Babbies), competing, we are assured of the fall of at least one team from their lofty status.

>/tg/ (2) - /int/ (2)
This matchup of two storied Elites ended in a dramatic draw, as poor conditioning on /int/ was matched by spaghetti and missed plays by /tg/ in the first half of the game. /int/'s only good forward, Polanball, scored a goal early in the first half, only to have the moment ruined by the crash of PES. It seemed that we might witness a repeat of /tg/'s friendly match with /v/. A series of minor tweaks and subs by TheDM proved the tactical genius of /tg/'s strategy, with team sponsor Crazy Hassan and cocaine-fueled madman Doomrider tying the match with impressive plays. Still, the poor plays by these teams makes one wonder whether their Elite status is due more to blind luck than decent divegrass.

>/u/ (4) - /fit/ (0) | The Death of an Elite
/u/nderdog team /u/ completely blew out /fit/ in an orgy of cute girls and bloodletting. In a surprise tweest, both managers were absent during the match, leaving the game entirely to prepared tactics. Shock and awe followed the anthems as /u/ demolished the /fit/ defense and prevented the Elite team from scoring or even challenging their dominance on the field. If /u/ can pull this off against /int/ and /tg/, we might be looking at the deaths of two Elite teams, and the birth of a new wonder team, powered by the purest form of love.

Well, the second day of the cup had an amazingly played beginning and stunning end, with surprising, exciting games for most teams. Chants continue to break the game, but they're so damn good when they work that we hope they can fix them and escape from the shadow of successive restarts for every group.

Group E
>/sp/ (3) - /jp/ (3) | Look at Those Fucking Conditions
/sp/ went into the Summer Cup reeling from the effects of Dragongate, and came out with a surprise draw against fellow oldster /jp/. With nine red players spread across both teams, we saw wonderful goals and immediate equalizers traded between these two teams in a passionate back and forth battle to prove themselves the masters of Group E. We can't wait to see these two teams play again next week. The fastest goal so far in the cup was scored by a Red Lelbron at the 2 minute mark.

>/m/ (1) - /g/ (0)
Despite their long, long slump, /m/ proved that they were not quite >ded with a cheeky little goal by Alteisen. With possibly the slowest-moving goal ever seen, /m/ ascended to the top of their group in a surprise upset of the group stage rankings. We hope /m/ can at least reclaim their title of King of Hearts and avoid relegation this time around.

>/b/ (2) - /d/ (0)
Bob Sapp and Haigure found themselves sapped by cancer as they walked onto the field Blue and Purple in this game of /d/eviants versus /b/-tards. Fuelled by mafia intimidation, /b/ blew /d/ out of the game with impressive saves by Fuckin' Saved and nice goals by fan favorite Triforce and newfag James Holmes. The trolling was strong with /b/ this game, but the Sappening will hopefully return when /d/ next takes the field.

>/v/ (7) - /lit/ (0) | All the Books are Burnt
/lit/'s bad luck began off the field when Commissioner DrBorisG lost their new uniforms, and stuck with them for all 90 minutes of their game as every one of their many shots found a way to bounce away from /v/'s goal. In a record-tying 7-0 victory, /v/ quickly blew out the latest team to leave the Babbies with a commanding 4 goal lead at the end of the first half. Cries of >Stop! Stop! They're already dead! went unregarded as Gaben secured a miraculous hat trick and SANIC's ear-raping goalhorn played not once but twice. One can only hope that the magic of the Babbies returns to /lit/ before their next game.

Today's spaghetti game, filled with backheels to non-existant or opponent players and refball. Finally saved by >Rape in the 78" minute with a magical. PANIC-fueled goal after much spaghetti spilling. An honorable mention also goes to a purple Tracy who managed to score a fake goal after one of many fouls was called on /mlp/. Despite the spaghetti, both teams fought hard and surprise star THE BURDENED blocked many an /adv/ shot. If they can overcome the spaghetti, these two teams might impress us in future games.

>/trv/ (4) - /f/ (1)
With a 3 minute goal by Luke Skyscanner, /trv/ absolutely dominated this match against broken, out-dated, own-goal-scoring /f/. Still, a hope spot goal by first-time scorer Heap of Trouble kept them from being completely blown out and led to many of their supporters being ejected from the stadium for public indecency. Hopefully /f/ updates their Adobe Flash before their next match.

Proving that unusual formations only work sometimes, fan underdog /ck/ blew out fascist dictator favorite /pol/ in a hard-fought match that saw /ck/'s clean sheet anthem played for the first time. The predicted ultra-elite /pol/ found itself completely shut down by /ck/'s cast iron defense, with even Doom Paul incapable of making it happen. We're sure /pol/ is busy blaming the jews for their shocking defeat.

>/co/ (2) - /sci/ (1)
Poor, poor /co/ and continual disappointment /sci/ met today in a long, tiresome game punctuated by amazingly-close misses and some stunning goals. Captain /co/lette's Purple and Tucker's Blue conditioning kept /co/ from capitalizing on many of their opportunities, while /sci/ used the arcane electical science of Nikola Tesla to take an early lead. But /co/ pulled ahead with a surprising, shocking, and wonderful free kick goal at the 92" minute thanks to Bill Nye fouling it up just outside the /sci/ box. Beating the odds and winning a game, /co/ has restored our faith in superheroes. Meanwhile, /sci/ proved that they still haven't found a way to keep their experiments in divegrass from blowing up in their faces.

Thanks to rigging

Group A
>/x/ (1) - /toy/ (1)
Still exhausted from their paranormal antics last Friday, and with their managers inexplicably vanished, speculation was rife that /x/ would be steamrolled by /toy/. But clearly the touch was not with them as team aces Woody and Madoka Titus fumbled one drive after another, and the /x/'s undead team scored a single goal that led the entire game. An amazing last-minute injury time goal by Woody is keeping /toy/ in contention in Group A, but with rumors of /toy/ manager TinkerToy's burn-out and desire to throw the match, one wonders if they'll even try against group loser /c/.

>/mu/(2) - /c/ (0)
The first blowout of the day was not a disappointment, with a hyper-aggressive /c/ dominating the second half of the game in shots and drives. Still, they were unable to overcome the two point lead taken by /mu/ in the first half, thanks to /mu/ goalkeeper Merzbow, and so we have our first team locked into the Round of 16 and the first team to be relegated to the Autumn Babbies. Better luck next time /c/, and congratulations /mu/.

>/a/ (5) - /tv/ (0) | Look at Those Conditions 2: Blue Board, Blue Team
SHEEEEEET-slinging politician Stringer Bell and WHAT A TWEEST screenwriter Steven Moffat were no match for a team of mostly Blue anime aces, as /a/ forced ball after ball past a sleepy /tv/ defense. All hope of /tv/ maintaining a shred of dignity was wiped out as colossal choker Colossal Titan pulled off his first goal of the tournament at the 91" minute of injury time, sealing /tv/'s death with yet another 5-0 blowout. We can only tell /tv/ to get the fuck back to the Autumn Babbies, you goddamn lubbers. /a/non won this game, all's right with the world!

>/po/ (0) - /h/ (0)
In the first nil-nil draw of the Cup, which started with much rigging by a drunken Bittenfeld and ended with much rigging by a smashed Bittenfeld, saw /po/'s paper-sharp offense stopped by Garterbelt and /h/'s defense at every turn, while /h/'s star players were turned dizzy by their manager's drunken rigging magic and proved incapable of breaking the paper-armored defense of /po/. In the end, drunken magic saved /h/ from their own adaptation of /tv/'s rape by /po/, but it seems like /a/ and /po/ will be advancing to the knockouts. Honestly, this was rather boring, with tons of rigging that seemed to amount to nothing.

Notable for Ken commenting that /soc/ would find it hard to equalize the game at the 77" minute with /wg/ leading 3-1. Full-on offensive panic by /wg/ was unable to give them the lead in the last 8 minutes of the match. These two teams will definitely be strong contenders in whatever cup they end up in.

With an impressive 8.0 performance by /int/ favorite Po utin e , /int/ secured the death of one of their rival Elites and brought Mother Russia the glory of victory. We fear the day we see a red Polanball, Putin, and Spurdo, for they will surely be unstoppable then.

Against a strong 4-4-2 formation led by ace striker Homuhomu, with their defenders covered in Blue conditioning, /tg/ rolled under the skillcheck needed to stop /u/. But hope was not lost, and the purest form of love and COOOOCAAAAIIIIIINNNNNEEEEE found themselves equally motivating as /tg/ and /u/ ended a nail-biting match with a game-tying hat trick by Doomrider. If /tg/ can blow out /ded/ in a devastating rapegame next week, they could advance from a difficult group stage and remain Elite. But the chances are slim, as /int/ and /u/ could still lock /tg/ out of the cup, and /fit/ might just find one last gasp of strength to preserve their honor. Thrilling, tense, and nail-biting, this match was the second surprise upset of the day. Bob Sapp's streak of poor conditioning continued, but fellow forwards Haigure, Dmitrys, and No Western picked up the slack to bounce three goals off the back of /v/'s net. While /d/ forced itself into /v/'s goal despite the protestations of Trip, Gaben found his team of elite forwards completely shut down by /d/'s defense, and all half-decent attempts on the goal were broken by replacement /d/ goalie Ballbusting. With this victory, /d/ remains in contention and ties with /v/ for points in the group, though /v/'s 7-0 blowout of /lit/ still gives them the edge in GD. It'll all come down to Sunday.

>/b/ (4) - /lit/ (1)
Competing with /tv/ for absolute worst record in the Summer Cup, /lit/ lost horribly to /b/, with their weak defense constantly outplayed by /b/ forward Triforce. At least this time, /lit/ managed to secure a single goal from sole striker Lolita Wanted It. /lit/'s flat-out weird strategies and formation do not seem to be working their magic, and all of San Marino's attempts at rigging just made less and less sense as the match went on. >/mlp/ (1) - /trv/ (1)
Once again, >Rape scored a single goal to keep /mlp/ in contention. Poor conditions on /trv/'s forwards and a decent /mlp/ team fought a back-and-forth match that saw a Red Darien Gap stopping /mlp/'s shots and /mlp/'s defense absolutely stunning /trv/'s Blue offense. Ultimately this game came down to two lucky plays breaking through strong defenses and creating the only draw of the day.

>/adv/ (2) - /f/ (1)
Once again, /f/ was unable to turn an early lead into a win. Skillful goals by /adv/ overwhelmed the /f/ defense, and despite some desperate managing by OldManSou /f/ is now relegated to the Autumn Babbies. Meanwhile, /adv/ is still at risk of following them, depending on the results of Sunday.

>/co/ (2) - /pol/ (1)
Belief in superheroes and miracles paid off as /co/ secured their position in the 2013 Summer Cup as they defeated /pol/ in their home stadium. Despite the home court advantage and vastly superior conditions, /pol/ threw away the first half of the match on a defensive strategy that allowed The Flash and Archer, with assistance from /co/lette to score two uncontested goals. Doom Paul gave /pol/ some consolation at the close of the game, but it was too little, too late. /pol/ lost, and was now dependent on a /sci/ victory to keep them in contention.

>/ck/ (5) - /sci/ (1) | The /cock/ has prevailed
Unfortunately for /pol/ and /sci/, Group H ended with /co/ and /ck/ on top and in the cup. Despite some terrible conditions for both teams, and Carl Sagan's lecture giving /sci/ a very early 1 goal lead, /ck/'s forwards overcame the Blue defenders of /sci/ to cement their return to a major cup. Impressive performances by ace striker Nachos and a Purple Perfect Coffee gave /ck/ the edge it needed to dice /sci/'s exhausted defense. We hope that this oldest and most disappointing of teams will go deep in the Knockout Stage, and redeem some of the honor it deserves as one of the oldest teams in the 4chan Cup.

With elites dying, red cards flying, and surprise attempts to throw games, Day 5 is a day of tragic, dramatic surprise. We blame Tinker/toy/ for the worst of the bullshit that happened today.

Group A
>/mu/ (4) - /x/ (1)
Seeking to deny /toy/ a place in the Knockout Stage, /mu/ manager Tim decided to leave his team unrigged as they entered the pitch to face ded team /x/. Well, he failed spectacularly in that goal as Jeff Mangum and MC Ride demolished /x/ even with full-zero sliders in a pure shotfest. /x/ did compete in shots, albeit off-target and missed, but /mu/ was simply too strong to lose to a ded team. Still, /x/ did not blow out completely, as Pyramid Head proved himself to still be a dangerous rapist with a solo goal against /mu/.

>/toy/ (0) - /c/ (0) | FUCK TINKER/TOY/
The most-anticipated game of the group, this match tainted the rest of the day. An attempt to throw the game and ruin /toy/'s chances of advancing by the team's manager ended with an empty draw. Absolutely worthless team /c/, who lost to ded /x/ last week, was unable to score despite /toy/'s attempted suicide by poor conditions, out of position players (led by AMF Kinder Eggs being placed in goal), and absolute wish by manager Tinker/toy/ for /toy/ to not take advantage of /toy/'s one chance to advance into the knockouts and turn it's cup disappointment around. Tinker/toy/ should've resigned BEFORE the Cup, and not subjected the fans and friendly rivals of /toy/ to his emo bullshit. /c/ deserved a better send-off from the Summer Cup than this. We hope Tinker gets the same treatment as Dragonfag, and we look forward to new rules from the 4chan Cup Committee.

Group B
>/h/ (3) - /tv/ (2) | It's Up to Bitten to Save Soccer/Football
With the DEP rigging disabled, /tv/ was finally able to put themselves on the board. Among other thrilling moments, YIFY's first goal was an impressive header assisted by Stannis The Mannis, and Asuka's amazingly lucky lobbed answer set up viewers for a fun, brain-bleaching match. Titty Monster's blooter free kick and RHB's first and last goal of the cup, combined with horrible, horrible rigging by Commissioner DrBorisG's fuck-up gave us an amusing, enjoyable end to our game. /tv/ fell, but /h/ still had stakes in the /po/-/a/ game, leaving us fans on the edge of our seats as we entered the end of Group B.

>/a/ (5) - /po/ (0)
Two teams who blew out /tv/ fought, and one walked away. /a/ absolutely destroyed /po/ with a 5-0 scoreline. Colossal Titan finally proved his worth, scoring two goals alongside old favorites Mugi and Cowboy Bebop, while Inferno Cop scored his own first goal. Truly, with 8man in the goal and Inferno Cop and colossal Titan putting in goals, this was a game for /a/'s rookies to shine. And with /a/ and /h/ advancing to the Knockouts, it seems that Summer 2013 will become the battle of the weeaboos. Best of luck in Autumn, /po/, and we hope to see you in the Winter Cup.

>/soc/ (2) - /fa/ (1)
With /fa/ already relegated, all they could do was try to spoil it for /soc/, but the missingness of /fa/'s manager left little chance of that. A last-minute goal by Young Stalin preserved what remained of /fa/'s honor, but /soc/ had no challenge to winning the game.

>/wg/ (2) - /cgl/ (0)
/cgl/'s cunts were destroyed by Cunt Destroyer as /wg/ managed to suppress the magic of ded teams. A mostly expected result, with very little chance of this particular ded team advancing even with their victory over /fa/. We will never forget the neverending SEAGULLS, but it's time to put this team to bed. At least until Autumn.

Group D
>/fit/ (2) - /tg/ (1) | The Death of An Elite 2: Electric Boogaloo
With the DEP fix and the game unrigged, /tg/ was unable to overcome the dense /fit/ defense. Zyzz scored a quick goal and took the lead in the match, a match that quickly descended into murderball, with /fit/ player Steroid getting a red card in the second half of the game. But despite a lucky shot by Crazy Hassan, the Purple conditioning of Muscle Wizard and /tg/'s offense getting swamped by the super-defensive /fit/ formation meant that there were very few chances for the Fa/tg/uys to shoot. Missed headers, wide shots, and disappointing play by The Whizzard cost /tg/ the game. /fit/ drags another elite down with them, setting the stage for a brutal revenge match in the Autumn Cup. We hope /tg/ gets a chance to recover its honor this fall.

>/u/ (2) - /int/ (1)
Well, with the group tied up this game was somewhat less important than the previous one. But that didn't make the players try any less, and /u/ cemented their position at the top of Group G. The second red card of the cup saw kebabs removed from the stadium as Remove Kebab went off for too many fouls. Putin proved that Mother Russia was still capable as he scored a consolation goal for /int/ at 90 minutes, and the match itself was rather tight. Good luck in the knockout stages you guys.

The group stage comes to an end. Teams are relegated, hopes are dashed, dreams are reborn, and we prepare for the final weekend.

Group E
>/m/ (4) - /jp/ (2) | #RetireDoogie
Chants of "Waito Piggu Go Home" were less effective against a fellow weeaboard as /m/ trounced /jp/ 4-2. This shotfest of a match was dominated by an all-orange /m/ team and a Newtype-powered Nu Gundam, who led the game with a hat trick at the end of the first half. /jp/'s minor changes to their team and strategy allowed them to score 2 goals through /m/'s backup goalies Gipsy Danger and EVA-01, but it was too little too late. Unlike yesterday, there was no attempt to throw this match and relegate hated/loved team /sp/, and /jp/ would go down fearing for it's chances in the 2013 Summer Cup. Oh, and Doogie was forced to eat his words as /m/ took 9 undefeated points in the group stage.

>/sp/ (2) - /g/ (0) | /sp/ FINDS A WAY
With tremendous amounts of luck, /sp/ squeaked into the Knockouts with a 1 goal advantage over /jp/. With a team of all Blue medals, /g/ was in a good position to deny /sp/'s offense through most of the match, and possibly take the lead. However, a goal at the very end of the first half by USAUSAUSA gave /sp/ the momentum it needed to dominate the second half despite some amazing heroics from /g/ in the last 20 minutes. A surprisingly decent performance by /jp/ came to an end, but we'll see them again in Autumn. /jp/ manager Doogie made a surprise appearance at the start of the game, apparently resigning in the most dramatic way possibly by suiciding in the center of the pitch. Of course, he couldn't actually go through with his challenge, and returned after a ten-minute resignation, the worthless scrub.
Goddammit Doogie, you ruined /jp/'s best chance to prove their worth to the rest of the 4chan Cup.

Group F
>/v/ (1) - /b/ (0)
An early goal by Gaben kept /v/ alive through the trolling of /b/ in an otherwise scoreless but exciting game. Barely squeaking by the most cancerous team of the group, /v/ was still at risk of losing their place in the Summer Cup to /d/'s team of sexual deviants. We wonder how /v/ will perform in this Cup, considering their record in this group stage. More importantly, we must all suffer through /b/'s anthem at least once more.

>/d/ (1) - /lit/ (1)
With SanMarino finally deciding to take the cup seriously, /lit/ dragged the /d/eviants down to their level with a 1-1 tie. Rather than playing a nonsense formation with silly sliders, serious /lit/ ended their first major cup with a spoiler draw against fan favorite /d/. A Purple Bob Sapp scored a single goal for /d/ in the first half of the game, raising hopes that DA BEAST would overcome his streak of shit conditions and lead /d/ to victory in it's most important game yet. But it was not too be, and /d/ was relegated to Autumn with /lit/, while the Cancer teams of /v/ and /b/ were allowed through. We hope Bob Sapp shows up well-rested in the Autumn Cup and returns for Winter 2014. We couldn't care less about /lit/.

13 shots and 1 goal. Tons of chances and shots went wide or directly to the keepers, but Couchsurfer Rapist was finally able to put /trv/ on the board. With /trv/'s victory, Group D came to a somewhat anti-climactic end as /trv/'s victory secured /mlp/'s position in the knockout stage.

>/f/ (2) - /mlp/ (0)
In this meeting of hated rivals, the horsefuckers of /mlp/ were saved by the Third World Country of /adv/. With most of their better players resting, /f/ was able to score 2 goals against a team that no longer cared. It was a bittersweet victory, for it was won against an apathetic /mlp/. And /f/'s chances in an Autumn filled with former elites and star teams are looking rather slim. Still, no one can deny that OldManSou has certainly strengthened his team, and that might be enough to bring them back to the WInter Cup.
